The series explores critical issues in real estate through presentations, conversations, and dialogues with thought leaders, and those issues are identified and refined by the series Advisory Board, chaired by Frank J. Parker, principal of Atlantic Advisory Group and an active member of the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland. (Bio summary follows below). 

Each event in the series will take a different approach to the current topic, and will be custom-designed to highlight the thought leaders’ expertise. The first session will start with an expert presentation followed by a guided conversation, and concluding with interactive Q&A.

Frank Parker, Rotary Real Estate Roundtable Advisory Board Chairman

Frank J. Parker taught at Boston College since September 1969 as a tenured full professor of graduate level real estate development, sustainability, and nonprofit organizations courses in the Carroll School of Management. For 23 years, he also was an adjunct full professor at Boston College Law School where he taught a variety of international law courses. He is a practicing attorney and licensed real estate broker in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

He was one of seven real estate professionals charged as The Real Estate Advisory Committee of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston with the selling of 47 parishes for in excess of $60 million in the wake of its recent lawsuit settlements.

For over a decade Professor Parker was a member of the Real Estate Roundtable and has been actively involved with The American Society of Real Estate Counselors (ASREC); The Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the Appraisal Institute (MAI). In 2006 he was appointed a Fellow by the British Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). 

For three years, Professor Parker was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of RTC Real Estate for Warren Gorham and Lamont, where he wrote a column each issue on “Ethics in Real Estate.”

Professor Parker was the first foreign consultant employed by the Government of Bermuda starting in 1994 to act as a consultant to assist it in closing the 2500 acres American Naval Bases on the island and redevelop the 10% of the land mass involved as commercial, residential and recreational improved space.

Mike was a Partner, Senior Vice President and member of the Senior Executive Team at The Beal Companies, the Boston-based real estate investment company. He directed the firm’s investment and development activities, focusing on commercial, industrial, life science, healthcare, multi-family real estate development and investment opportunities. As a senior executive and Partner, Mike played an integral part in directing the strategic direction of the Company as well as sourcing deals, reviewing development and investment opportunities, and managing projects. He retains an ownership position in a number of Beal projects.

In his career, Mike has originated, arranged, and managed real estate investments, including, discretionary investment funds, and joint ventures with a broad range of institutional partners, directing more than $250 million of equity, with an aggregate property value in excess of $1.75 billion. Mike has had direct investments in a number of operating businesses as well. 

​Mike is a former President of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and a Director and past Secretary of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (New England Chapter). He is a Member of the invitation-only American Society of Real Estate Counselors. He received his M.B.A. and a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University.
